The design of the S2 phone is slightly different. The previous model had a curvier appearance, while the new Samsung Galaxy S2 slightly resembles an iPhone. At 8.5mm thick and 116 grams, the new version is also thinner and lighter. The new Galaxy S2 is however, bigger, as it has a wide screen of 4.3 inches. It features the super AMOLED capacitive technologies of the previous version. It has a resolution of 480 x 800. Even though the resolution is the same as the other model, there is no big difference in the quality of display on a larger screen, which remains high. The Galaxy S2 is equipped with TouchWiz 4.0, which is the latest version. This user interface has a number of advantages over the 3.0 version - that is in the previous Galaxy. For instance, it has a new method of assigning widgets through the use of a built-in gyroscope; and it also has several new widgets, which range from live wallpapers to weather applications. You can also assign up to seven individual home screens, which allows you to have different screens for different scenarios and situations.
One of the most advantageous features of the Galaxy S2 is the use of a dual-core processor, which operates at 1.2 MHz, thus providing a blistering performance. This also enhances the performance of several applications such as faster application download, loading Internet pages quickly, as well as a touch screen that is more responsive. Another major improvement is the camera. The original Galaxy S had a 5-megapixel camera, while the Galaxy S2 is upgraded to 8 megapixels. This comes with increased picture resolution and thus a higher quality of picture. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy S2 has the capability to take full 1080p videos. The first Galaxy S had an internal memory of 8GB, while the new Galaxy S2 has double that capacity. The Samsung Galaxy S2 can only be compared to a few, such as the LG Optimus 2x, which have dual-core processors. The Samsung Galaxy S2 has many new improvements, and smartphone users are taking notice.
